Function, Mechanisms and Theory of Neural Computation
Sensation, cognition, learning and action are generated by the dynamic effects of neurons, synapses and molecules. We study the function, mechanisms and theory of how neural circuits perform computations using a diverse set of experimental and computational approaches, focusing on the early visual system. Our research draws from the disciplines of biology, chemistry, physics, electrical engineering, mathematics, computer science, and medicine.
